B.Ed Colleges in Hyderabad
The B.Ed programme is aimed at developing the understanding and competencies that is required by practicing teachers for an effective teaching and learning process at the secondary and higher secondary level. This course also provides knowledge and develops an understanding of areas such as school management, evaluation etc. It is very important for a B.Ed course to be validated by the NCTE or the NCVT. NCVT recognized B.Ed degree is necessary for admission to M.Ed / MA (Education) courses offered by some Universities in the country. Further, most Government School teacher appointments requires that the candidate has a NCVT recognized B.Ed Degree. A fulltime course can be opted by candidates who are fresh out of graduation so that they can start their teaching career without any hassles. Whereas for teachers already working they can opt for a two year correspondence course in which they can keep working in the morning and then study for the course and their exams in the evening.
Hyderabad as a city has always had a rich educational heritage. The city boasts of thousands of colleges offering various courses. The B.Ed colleges in the city are mainly affiliated to the old and famous Osmania University. Talking about the colleges, there are mainly private colleges with only a handful of government aided ones. Starting with the College of Education-Osmania University which offers both graduate and post-graduate degrees with 160 and 25 seats respectively. It was given recognition in the year 2001. Located in Nizampet is the Vignan college of Education, which was established in 2007 with 100 seats and affiliated with Osmania University.
It has a course fee of Rs 13,500. Another famous private college is the Moghal College of Education which is certified by the NCTE and affiliated to the Osmania University. It too has a course fee of Rs 13,500 and a capacity of 200. One of the high ranking government colleges are Institute of Advanced Study in Education which has 50 seats and takes admissions through the EdCET exam. It was recognized in the year 2000. Another government college is the Government College of Teacher Education in Warangal and Inst. Of Advance Study in Education (IASE) Warangal which is affiliated to the Kakatiya University. One of the oldest colleges is the SGS Govt. IASE established in 1894 and situated in East Godavari District.
The other colleges include some of the Muslim minority colleges like Rahman’s College of Education in Janagaon (Warangal), Dr. Zakhir Hussain Memorial College of Education also in Warangal and Islamia College of Education estd. In 1999 and located in Medak district. Then there are a few private un-aided colleges for women which include SLNS College of Education for Women in the Nalgonda District, David Memorial College of Education for Women located in the R.R District, Panineeya Mahavidyalaya College of Education for Women estd. In 1983 and located in Dilsukhnagar.
Thus in Hyderabad one has a large number of choices before choosing in on a college which is suitable to their needs.
